Stephen Hall
HI I am Steve, I was born in Neath which is near Swansea, South Wales. I am 35 years old and live in Waunarlwydd, Swansea with my wife Joann and my 7 year old son Ethan. I also have a 17 year old son who has flown the nest and is currently serving with the British Army, of whom i am extremely proud. I am a senior engineer for a large organisation which takes me all over the UK.
My journey on becoming a Christian was a very difficult path. I chose to shut many people out of my life as i was ignorant to what faith meant to me. Prior to becoming a Christian i was a very arrogant human being, and thought the world revolved around myself and my family.
No matter what I did with my life i could not fill the emptiness inside me. This could be new home, nice cars, bikes and material items. I have a beautiful wife and 2 fantastic children but still I felt unfulfilled.
My brother in law who is also a very close friend of mine became a Christian and I noticed a change in him. At this point in my life I thought Christianity was some sort of cult, I was ignorant to the fact that I was letting my pride take over my life and not my faith. Weirdly, although i did not have Jesus in my life i would pray every night, I did not know to who or what but I believed that there was something else! I would do this whenever I felt troubled or needed something.
With the reading of a few books and turning to Jesus, I quickly realised that the answers I had been looking for were in the Bible and that the Lords word could fill the emptiness inside me.
I have not lived a clean lifestyle and have done many things that i regret. With having the forgiveness from Christ i have started a new chapter in my life and have not looked back since.
I have been a member of Oasis Church Gowerton since 2009 and hope to be with them for many years to come. The support and teachings i get from the church have been outstanding and I have made many lifelong friends .
